APEC Adventure Hour – Butterflies

Please bring your little one and join us for an afternoon of fun planned especially for the little ones. This program includes games, songs, a snack, a craft, live animals and a nature walk (weather permitting). No non-participating siblings except for infants in infant seats. Limited to 8 parent/child pairs.

Fly Fishing 101

What is fly fishing? It’s not about catching flies at all! Come learn the techniques of fly fishing from a seasoned veteran at Alley Pond Environmental Center. You will learn all about the equipment, casting, knots, rigging and everything else involved in this very interesting and graceful type of fishing. This program is geared towards all who are interested in the art of fly fishing from beginning to end and want to explore all the equipment used in a safe and comfortable environment. All equipment will be supplied! Please note – all participants are asked to wear a hat and a pair of sunglasses to the program. While this is an adult program, children ages 8 and up are welcome, provided they are accompanied by a participating adult.

Crazy for Caterpillars

Learn how caterpillars change into beautiful butterflies. Search the trails for munched leaves, creeping caterpillars and hanging chrysalises. Take home your very own caterpillar and watch it change into a painted lady butterfly! Snack included. Caterpillar care and housing instructions provided. Limited to 12 participants.
