Through November, the Department of Consumer Affairs is presenting lectures at senior centers in the Senator Joe Addabbo’s district about how to avoid scams.
Fred Riley, Senior Community Relations Coordinator for the department will give an overview on of the Department of Consumer Affairs. Information presented will include refund policies and receipt requirements, the consumer complaint process, identity theft, working with debt collectors, phony charities, signature forgeries and more.
There are three upcoming dates left for the lectures.
Tuesday, Nov. 15’s lecture at 10:30 a.m. will be at Maspeth Self Help, 69-61 Grand Avenue, Maspeth.
Thursday, Nov. 17 at 11 a.m. will be at Ozone Park Senior Center, 103-12 101st Avenue, Ozone Park
Tuesday, Nov. 22 at 11 a.m. will be at Middle Village Senior Center, 69-10 75th Street, Middle Village
