PAL Program Offers Safe Playspace

The Police Athletic League announced five Queens locations for its Summer Playstreets Program beginning on July 6 and continuing until August 21.

The program will close streets in the areas from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday to provide a safe space for children to play under supervision. Sports, games, and arts and crafts will be offered to the children at the five locations.

Travers Park On 78th Street, between Northern Boulevard and 34th Avenue
Louis Armstrong Playground On 37th Avenue, between 112th and 113th Street
Playground 75 On 160th Street, between 75th Road and 75th Drive
Westway Hotel Shelter 71-11 Astoria Blvd.
Ocean Bay Apartments 51-32 Beach Channel Dr.

 

The Police Athletic League will be operating 40 Playstreets across New York City this summer and provides recreational, educational, cultural and social activities to 35,000 kids each year.
