Ariola Honored

Joann Ariola, Howard Beach/Lindenwood civic leader and chairwoman of the borough Republican party, was recently named one of the 50 Kings and Queens of Queens by City & State New York.
The media organization that covers Empire State government and politics released its Queens Power 50 list last week featuring “the 50 influentials every politician needs to know.”
“In this special section, we recognize the 50 people in the borough who are key players in the world of New York politics and government,” City & State editors wrote.
Ariola came in at No. 23.
The Lindenwood resident and long-time GOP district leader was elected chairwoman of the Queens County Republican Party in September 2017, succeeding former U.S. Rep. Bob Turner. Ariola, who co-founded the Lindenwood Alliance, is president of the Howard Beach-Lindenwood Civic. The mother of three and grandmother of three, well known for her grassroots, hands-on approach to tackling community concerns, has also spent more than 30 years in the political trenches of the World’s Borough. She has taken on the formidable task of unifying a once deeply fractured county party. According to City & State, Ariola has also sought to increase QGOP’s social media presence and back candidates with broader appeal.
Ariola shares her residence with her proud husband, John.
