Curtis Sliwa, radio personality and founder of the Guardian Angels, paid a visit to a meeting of the Ronald Regan Republican Club last week at Lenny’s Clam Bar in Howard Beach. The legendary Brooklynite entertained the crowds of about 75 die-hard Republicans who listened intently to his message: “Keep your neighborhood strong and rely on the old time family values that close knit communities are made of.”

He took questions from the audience, mostly centered on the future of the city and what we can expect on the horizon for the mayoral race. Although he said things were a little too early in the game that he didn’t know who he’d be supporting, he did say he would certainly consider supporting Ray Kelly should the top cop decide he’d like to take a stab at Gracie Mansion.

Sliwa posed for pictures with all who asked before picking up some Lenny’s take-out and hitting the road.
