The hunt is on for a man in connection with a rape that occurred in Richmond Hill last week.
According to police, the incident happened on Sunday, May 27 around 11 p.m. on 89th Avenue between 102nd and 104th streets.
Police say that the man grabbed a woman, who is described as a 19-year-old Hispanic, from behind, dragged her behind a house and sexually assaulted her.
The man that police are looking for had spiked hair and wore a tank top at the time of the incident, which had characters from the popular Fox cartoon “Family Guy” on it. He was also wearing cargo shorts.
He is described as Hispanic, between 25 and 35 years old, between 5 feet 5 inches and 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighing approximately 200 pounds.
Police later released a sketch and surveillance video of the man walking around that neighborhood on the night of the incident.
The Woodhaven Residents’ Block Association (WRBA) has also been getting the message out to residents in both Woodhaven and Richmond Hill.
The civic group produced a flyer and has asked for help in distributing it on its Facebook page.
The flyer has the word “rapist” in big red letters on top of it along with the sketch and description of the suspect.
