An off-duty FBI agent shot one of three vandals trying to break into his car near his South Ozone Park home in the early morning hours last Wednesday. The incident took place around 5:15 a.m at Sutter Avenue and 130th Street.
According to police, when the unidentified agent heard a group of men attempting to break into his vehicle, he called 911 and then shot one of the men in the back.
It is believed that two of the sus- pects escaped the scene and a third, the man who was shot, later admit- ted himself to Brookdale Hospital in Brooklyn. Police caught up with the suspect at the hospital, however he has still not been identified according to law enforcement officials.
At the scene police were inves- tigating a dark colored car that is believed to have been the target of the thieves however they did not confirm the make or model number of the vehicle.
