Two officers from the 106th Precinct, Sgt. Kopack and Police Officer Jaffe, were presented with the 106 Cop of the Month Award for their outstanding work and life saving efforts after a water rescue at Charles Park last week.
After responding to a call at the park, the officers found an unconscious man, lying face down on the shore. They immediately went to work administering CPR to the victim until FDNY medics and EMT units arrived at the scene.
The unidentified Hispanic male, in his 50’s was resuscitated at the scene and transported to Jamaica Hospital where he is still receiving treatment for serious injuries caused by lack of oxygen to the brain.
