The search is on for a teenage iPhone thief police say has struck in Forest Hills 7 times since December 20th.
The thefts started when the teen first approached a male victim in his early 40’s at 67th Avenue off Yellowstone Boulevard around 6 p.m. Approximately two hours later, he struck again, this time mugging and seizing the iPhone of a 39-year-old woman at Yellowstone and Queens Boulevard.
One week later, on Christmas night, another woman was victimized at Queens Boulevard and 67th Avenue and three days after that, a fourth victim, a 28-year-old woman, was accosted at the scene of his original attack eight days earlier.
Finally between December 28 and 31 the thief struck twice more, in the same vicinity on Queens Boulevard.
Police describe the teen as a black male approximately 16-17 years old. He was captured on surveillance video from a street camera and was wearing dark clothing during the attacks.
