FDNY Ambulance Strikes Residence, EMT’s Taken To Hospital

Firefighters attempt to extract the driver of the vehicle involved after securing his neck and head. EMT's were removed to Jamaica Hospital for treatment.

Firefighters and emergency service personnel examine the FDNY rig that lost control, crashing through a corner fence and plunging into the side of a residence after a collision with another vehicle.

 

An FDNY ambulance was involved in an accident on Sunday, January 20, at the intersection of 109th Avenue and 110th Street.  The ambulance, traveling east on 109th Ave was responding to an emergency and had it lights an siren on.  The other vehicle, a Ford Mustang was traveling North on 110th Street.  Witnesses at the scene were not clear which vehicle had the right of way with the green light. After the collision, the ambulance lost control and drove through a fence, hitting a house at the corner of 109th Ave and 110th Street. No one in the house was injured.  The 2 EMT’s and the driver of the Mustang were taken to Jamaica Hospital in stable condition.
