NYFAC Set To Open

The much anticipated opening of the NFAC Community Autism Center has officially been set for Sunday, April 7th at 10:30 a.m.

The State-of-the-Art facility was scheduled to open months ago, but Hurricane Sandy tore through the building rendering it unusable.

Now after months of reconstruction, organizers say they are ready to open their doors to serve the community.

Founder of NYFAC, an overjoyed Andrew Baumann, told The Forum, “At last we can celebrate our success. We are looking forward to working with our community to provide quality services and programs to any child diagnosed with a development disability.”

A compliment of elected officials will be on hand for the ribbon cutting ceremony and reception to follow, including Governor Andrew Cuomo, Mayor Michael Bloomberg Councilman Eric Ulrich, Assemblyman Phillip Goldfeder, and Queens Borough President Helen Marshall.

An open house will follow the even from noon until 5 p.m.
