More than two dozen volunteers came out in support of the Junper park Civic Associations clean-up on Saturday to clean and paint the dual overpass at Eliot Avenue and 60th Lane.
The Juniper Juniors, of the the Juniper Park Civic Association, organized the event with the support of Maspeth High School’s Green Club and Earth Day volunteers from Stop and Shop.
This marked the second successful pairing between the Junios and the Maspeth High School’s Green Club.
The first event was the painting of the Grand Avenue Bridge by the new Elmhurst Park. JPCA gladly welcomed the opportunity to participate in the event organized by Stop and Shop.
Saturday’s clean up was the first in a series of events that the Juniper Juniors will run throughout the summer.
The painting and clean-up supplies are paid for by the JPCA and Stop and Shop supplied the fresh fruit and water. The next event will be May 11th, we’ll it will involve cleaning up the corner of Fresh Pond Road and Metropolitan Avenue.
The Forum would like to recognize all the volunteer’s who helped make Saturday’s event such a success:
