Say Goodbye, Say Hello

Well it’s time for another word from the publisher–actually I don’t know why we call it a word from the publisher, because it’s never really a word–it’s always many.

And for the last so many years I can’t remember exactly, I have not only held the role of publisher but as Editor-in-Chief as well.

But this week actually marks the last issue in which my name will appear in that capacity.

I would like to thank you for always letting us know your feelings on the editorial decisions made at The Forum through letters, emails, faxes, texts and most recently through Facebook and Twitter.

And now as the editorial torch is passed, I hoe you will continue to share your thoughts with us on everything you have concerns with.

As always we will continue to welcome your contributions, story ideas, photos and of course, your opinions.

As we welcome aboard new Editor-in Chief, Anna Gustafson we are also ushering more connections to our online readership community.

Plans for the future include an enhanced website to keep you updated on important hyper-local news that we pride ourselves on delivering to the communities we serve.

We hope you will let us know how you feel about changes we’re making and how they are affecting our readers.

Although we maybe taking techno steps forward, the one thing we will always focus on are the real concerns of the communities and the things that affect our neighborhoods.

I am passing that responsibility on to a professional who is well suited to maintain the journalistic integrity of the news we bring you every week.

It has indeed been a privilege to serve this community as the editor of this newspaper and to have had the chance to share so many wonderful moments and memories.

The last seven months have been a great challenge on many and it has been an inspiration and a great lesson I have learned from all during this time.

I look forward to maintaining my role in this community and infusing it with many more projects than ever before.

It’s hard to imagine just how much news we have brought you over the years. With thousands of consecutive issues having been published, The Forum is finishing up its 39th year.

I hope we will continue to keep you coming back for another 39 years and look forward to all the new experiences of bringing the local news to you through different mediums and channels.

Once again thank you for allowing me the opportunity to come into your home every week.

See you on the street!
