A five-alarm fire ripped through six homes in Middle Village Monday night, displacing devastated residents and injuring 13 firefighters, the FDNY said.
More than 200 firefighters fought the three-hour inferno that damaged six houses and beganĀ at about 8:30 p.m. at 78-15 68th Ave., according to officials. The 13 firefighters injured were not seriously hurt, but 12 were taken to the hospital out of precaution. No civilians were hurt, according to the FDNY.
The New York chapter of the Red Cross said the group helped about 41 people displaced by the fire.
