The Columbia Association Department of Corrections (NYCD) honored Howard Beach restaurateur Joseph DeCandia last month, naming him as their Businessman of the Year.
A celebration gala for the 58th Anniversary of the Annual Scholarship Dinner Dance was held on September 27th at Villa Barone Manor in the Bronx, where DeCandia was joined by fellow honorees, Joseph Schiano who was named Member of the Year, and Mark J. Cranston, First Deputy Commissioner, NYC DOC.
In addition to being named Businessman of the Year, the association also awarded a scholarship in the name of the International Society of Cosma and Damiano, of which DeCandia is the president.
