It is with great sadness that we inform you of the passing of the wonderful Phil Mayer.
Phil has been a life-long member of the Howard Beach community. His work and dedication to his family, his faith and his community will continue to live on for many, many years to come. Phil was an active member of the Howard Beach Assembly of God Church where he reached into the hearts and lives of the youth in the neighborhood with his leadership and participation in many ministries, such as, Royal Rangers, vacation Bible School, and Sunday School. He was one of the founders of the Friends of Philly, a fund dedicated to helping children affected by Spinal Muscular Atrophy.
He will be greatly missed by his wife Angela, and his children; Andrew, Joseph, Ashley, and Philly, and countless family members and friends. We are comforted by the truth that Phil is happy and free of life’s pains and that we will see him again one day in heaven.
