The Jamaica man charged with murdering his wife in a fit of jealous rage and then stabbing his two young daughters to death because he did not have car seats to take them with him as he tried to flee for Mexico was arraigned in Queens Criminal Court Friday.

Miguel Mejia-Ramos, 28, was arraigned on a criminal complaint charging him with six counts of first-degree murder, three counts of second-degree murder, and five counts of fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon after he allegedly stabbed his 21-year-old wife, Deisy Garcia, 2-year-old daugther Daniela, and 1-year-old daughter Yoselin to death in their apartment on Sutphin Boulevard in Jamaica either late at night on Jan. 18 or early in the morning on Jan. 19, according to Queens District Attorney Richard Brown.

“I was at the crime scene last Sunday night, and as I said at that time, ‘I have seen a lot in my 23 years as district attorney, but there is nothing more disturbing than seeing children – in this case mere babies – as victims of violence,’” Brown said.

The DA met with the family and close friends of Deisy Garcia, a Guatemalan immigrant who was remembered as a devoted mother and talented dancer at her church, the morning of the arraignment. The group was also joined by the Guatemalan Consul General.

“Everyone is, of course, devastated by that which occurred,” Brown said. “I assured them that this case will be vigorously prosecuted and there will be no plea bargaining.”

The bodies of Garcia and her two daughters were discovered by Garcia’s 12-year-old nephew, the NYPD said. Garcia was found on the floor, and her children were discovered wrapped in blankets on their beds, officials said.

According to Brown, Mejia-Ramos told police that after drinking beer at a friend’s house he returned home on Saturday night around 11 p.m. and went through the phone and Facebook account of his wife and saw a photo of her with another man and “snapped.” He told police that he grabbed a knife from the butcher block and stood over his wife and daughters, during which time Garcia awoke and screamed, the DA said.

Mejia-Ramos then allegedly stabbed her repeatedly with multiple knives, after which he allegedly told authorities that he proceeded to kill his daughters because he did not have car seats to take them with him.

According to the DA, he went over to Daniela, and, upon noticing she was awake, allegedly picked her up, gave her a hug and a kiss, asked for forgiveness, and stabbed her. He then allegedly did the same to Yoselin, who had just celebrated her first birthday.
