South Queens residents – as well as those from across the borough and city – will flood Howard Beach’s streets on Saturday, May 31 for the annual Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation’s Walk for a Cure
The International Society of SS Cosma and Damiano sponsors the popular event, which draws more than 1,000 people to the neighborhood to raise tens of thousands of dollars for research aiming to wipe out diabetes – a disease that is becoming increasingly prevalent throughout the country. The funds raised are donated to JDRF.
Participants will meet at Ave Maria Catholic Academy Schoolyard, located at 158-20 101st St., to kick off the walk at 10:30 a.m.
