Assemblyman Phil Goldfeder (D-Rockaway Park) honored Howard Beach’s Reach for the STARS! as May’s Small Business of the Month.
Goldfeder presented the group’s owner, Frances O. Scarantino, and her staff with an official state Assembly proclamation.
The lawmaker noted that Reach for the STARS! received extensive damage during Hurricane Sandy, but with the help of their extraordinary staff and friends, they reopened their doors and continue to serve dozens of children and families throughout the community.
