Assemblyman Phil Goldfeder (D-Rockaway Beach) last week recognized the community service of Broad Channel Civic Association President Dan Mundy, Jr. Goldfeder presented Mundy with a framed copy of the Jamaica Bay Protection Bill, together with the initial 2012 press release announcing the legislation and the pen used by Gov. Andrew Cuomo to sign the bill into law earlier this year. Goldfeder consulted Mundy during the research and drafting of the new law, which prevents the dumping of toxic chemicals into Jamaica Bay.
