A borough Supreme Court justice last Friday unleashed an epic diatribe against an admitted baby killer as he sentenced the Jamaica man to 45 years in prison for the January stabbing deaths of his wife and two young daughters.

Miguel Mejia-Ramos, 29, pleaded guilty in October to three counts of first-degree manslaughter after confessing to repeatedly stabbing his wife, Deisy Garcia, 21, and daughters Daniela Mejia, 2, and Yoselin Mejia, 1, with a kitchen knife inside their Sutphin Boulevard apartment, according to Queens District Attorney Richard Brown.

Garcia’s family reportedly agreed to the plea deal to avoid reliving the nightmarish details of a crime that stunned the city.

An impassioned Judge Kenneth Holder called Mejia-Ramos “vile and despicable,” in video obtained by ABC News, while adding that he believed “that the person who invented the electric chair or the gas chamber must certainly have had you in mind when they designed it.”

Holder, visibly angry, stared down Mejia-Ramos as he said, “You killed the mother of your two children without even thought of how their lives would go on without their mother…it is truly difficult to find words to describe how sickening the people in this courtroom are of the sight of you.”

Mejia-Ramos was captured in Texas while attempting to flee to Mexico. In statements to cops following his arrest, Brown said, Mejia-Ramos stated he had been drinking and returned home and looked through his wife’s cell phone. After finding a picture of his wife with another man, he told police he went into a rage. He grabbed the knife from a butcher block that was in the bedroom and stabbed his family.

Mejia-Ramos, who has waived his right to appeal, said he decided to kill his kids because he didn’t have car seats to take the girls with him as he fled from authorities.

Brown said that he hoped the sentence would bring some measure of closure to the Garcia family.

“Justice has been swift and it has been certain. The case against the defendant is now over,” Brown added. “[Mejia-Ramos] has accepted his fate that he will quite likely spend the rest of his days in prison and never see the light of day again.”
