Corona Man Re-arrested on Child Porn Charges

A grand jury has indicted a Corona man on charges of engaging a young Oklahoma girl over the Internet, Queens District Attorney Richard Brown announced on Wednesday.

Jorel Fowler, 24, also known as Jorel Fower, according to Brown, was allegedly days away from traveling to see the 13-year-old in person for sex when he was arrested in March 2014 for luring other children to play “The Game,” a program allegedly created by the defendant which he used on the website Omegle, in which youngsters were awarded points for performing various activities online, including sexual acts, which Fowler would allegedly request. Points could be earned for something as simple as a smile, but would escalate into other activities. Fowler was previously indicted for charges stemming from these actions.

Fowler was arraigned again on Tuesday on an 81-count indictment charging him with 29 counts of use of a child in a sexual performance, 25 counts of promoting a sexual performance by a child and 25 counts of possessing a sexual performance by a child and one count each of first-degree disseminating indecent material to minors and endangering the welfare of a child. If convicted, Fowler faces up to 15 years in prison.

Brown asked that anyone who believes they may have been victimized by Fowler or with information about the case to call his office at (718) 286-6590.
