Cops this week were still hunting an unknown assailant who pistol whipped, robbed and carjacked a an area diner’s delivery driver last Friday night on a residential block in Howard Beach, according to a police spokeswoman.
Officers responded to the call on 99th Street near 159th Avenue around 8:15 p.m., and upon arrival found the injured 51-year-old victim, who indicated that a man had displayed a handgun, demanded all of his money, then hit the victim in the head with the firearm and took off with the vehicle and cash.
The 2013 Dodge Avenger was later recovered approximately five blocks away. At press time, cops were still investigating the incident, looking for a white man of unknown description, weighing roughly 200 pounds.
