Howard Beach man Anthony Fusco has been writing plays for roughly 10 years, and his most recent endeavor, a psychological thriller called “Fixation,” is about to get produced at the Hudson Guild Theatre in Manhattan.
The production will compete against other one-act plays as part of the Winter Strawberry One Act Festival, which showcases plays and one-man shows of all genres from 15-30 minutes in length. Fusco took his inspiration from real life: Fixation is a story about placing an ad on Craigslist for a roommate, and what unfolds as two men get to know each other.
The play, which is 30 minutes long, will be presented along with two other one-acts at the Hudson Guild Theatre at 441 West 26th Street on Feb. 13 at 9 pm and Feb. 14 at 3 pm. Audiences will vote on which two plays to send forward to the next round. The top seven will be staged on Feb. 20. To purchase tickets for Fixation and help move Fusco’s play forward to the next round, go to www.therianttheatre.com. Tickets are $25 online, $27 at the door.
