A new commanding officer may be settling into his seat at the 102nd Precinct stationhouse, but the crime story remains the same.

The latest CompStat figures show that most—five out of seven—of the major felony categories are again down, compared to this time last year. Only murder and grand larceny auto have increased during the same period.

There have been two murders this year in the precinct that serves the communities of Kew Gardens, Richmond Hill, Woodhaven, and the northern part of Ozone Park, compared to zero at this point in 2014. And car thefts are up nearly 20 percent in the 102.

Deputy Inspector Deodat Urprasad, a borough native, took over the commanding officer post for Dep. Inspector Henry Sautner earlier this month.
