Tire Thieves Strike Again in Howard Beach

While authorities seemed to make strides recently in putting a dent in the epidemic of stolen tires and rims in the area, thieves this week struck once again, this time on 158th Avenue in Howard Beach.

The bandits boosted the two driver side wheels off a brand-new, jet-black Infiniti sedan as the vehicle sat in front of the owner’s house. By the time the owner realized what had happened, the car was precariously propped up on a single black milk crate on the driver side, which was facing away from the owner’s house.

106th Precinct officers filled out a report. No arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing.

Just last month, Anti-crime cops rounded up a trio of alleged thieves who were caught in a minivan with tires and rims belonging to area cars that had just been vandalized.
