An 83-year-old Richmond Hill man on Monday was struck by an SUV and killed a few feet from his home, according to police and published reports.
Nfn Loknauth was crossing 103rd Avenue around 10:45 p.m. when he was hit by a Nissan Xterra and dragged several yards before the driver stopped the vehicle. Loknauth was rushed to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center where he was pronounced dead, police said.
According to a source, the driver is a veteran emergency medical technician for Jamaica Hospital who was heading home after completing a 16-hour shift.
Investigators were still looking into the crash. The driver was not arrested.
