Some Cookie’s Lounge customers sprang into action Monday night around 9:30 p.m. when a motorist lost control of his car and it flipped several times, landing upside down on Cross Bay Boulevard near Sutter Avenue, steps from the bar.
The road-side rescuers tore off the driver’s side door, pulled the man out and carried him to safety away from the vehicle.
Emergency medical service staff arrived shortly thereafter and rushed the driver to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center. The victim’s condition was unknown as of Wednesday afternoon.
