Andrew Terrana, who was sitting on his bed when the vehicle blasted through the exterior brick wall and into his room, escaped with a minor head wound.
A Howard Beach man is lucky to be alive after an out-of-control SUV last Friday evening jumped the curb, blasted through a brick wall, and landed in his bedroom, according to police and published reports.
Andrew Terrana, 34, was on his bed inside his home on 85th Street and 161st Avenue when the vehicle tore through the wall, barely missing him. He was treated for minor injuries and released from Jamaica Hospital Medical Center.
The driver of the SUV told investigators that she was driving westbound on 161st Avenue when she swerved to avoid a car in front of her that was making a left turn. She hit the gas pedal instead of the brake and ended up inside the Terrana home. Neither the driver nor her young daughter was hurt, cops said.
