City Police Department investigators recently reached out to the public for help in locating two suspects wanted in connection with a robbery aboard an E train in Richmond Hill earlier this month.

According to police reports, on Sunday, Feb. 5, around 4:20 a.m., the first perpetrator approached the 23-year-old victim from behind as the train stopped and the doors opened at the Jamaica/Van Wyck station and grabbed the chain from his neck, causing the chain and an angel pendant to fall onto the victim’s chest. The second perp then removed the chain and pendant – valued at a total of $300 – from the victim’s chest and exited the train and the station. The first perp fled to parts unknown, cops said, while the victim continued on the subway and later reported the incident to police.

Authorities have provided a description of only the second perpetrator. He is simply described as a bearded black man who was wearing eyeglasses and “a distinctive beanie cap” during the attack, according to investigators.

A surveillance photo and video shows the second perpetrator exiting the subway system at the Jamaica/Van Wyck station, cops said.
