Borough President Melinda Katz on Sunday hosted the “Unity in Diversity” rally at Borough Hall “to affirm Queens’ values of diversity and inclusion.”
Hundreds of faith and civic leaders, elected officials, and borough residents joined Katz on the Hall steps to denounce the recent upsurge in hate crimes across the country and express support for those currently fearing for the futures of their families.
“A call to awaken, in solidarity from here in #Queens, the most diverse place on the planet. #UnityRally,” Katz captioned a picture of the event on Twitter.
