A dispute over cash on Sunday night in Richmond Hill turned violent when a vendor allegedly threatened a fellow street merchant with a machete, according to police and published reports.
The man and woman got into a heated argument over money around 9 p.m. on Liberty Avenue near 114th Street, authorities said. That’s when she allegedly brandished the broad blade.
After a brief tussle, responding officers were able to separate the woman from the machete and take both vendors into custody.
According to Spectrum News New York 1, one of the officers suffered minor scrapes during the scrap.+
