Police this week announced that the man who allegedly tried to kidnap a 12-year-old girl in front of a Queens Village supermarket last Thursday has been taken into custody.
Vladimir Suero, 38, was arraigned on Monday on a criminal complaint charging him with acting in a manner injurious to a child less than 17 and second-degree harassment. Bail was set at $5,000 cash or bond and a temporary order of protection has been issued. According to City Department of Correction records, Suero is still on Rikers Island.
According to police reports, a 12-year-old girl was walking with her mother near the Key Food on Jamaica Avenue and 214th Street last Thursday around 12:30 p.m. when Suero allegedly approached the child and stated in Spanish “You are coming with me” and forcibly grabbed the victim’s arm. Upon observing his action, the mother intervened and Suero fled on foot in an unknown direction.
