Hundreds of south Queens families on Sunday flocked to Jamaica Avenue between Woodhaven Boulevard and 80th Street for this year’s Wonderful Woodhaven Street Festival.
Sponsored by the Greater Woodhaven Development Corporation, the 42nd annual event has become a featured fall tradition for Woodhaven and surrounding communities. This year’s celebration boasted the Malaysian Lion Dancers, a country-western band complete with dancers, dance instructors, and many other musical groups that kept the party going well into the evening.
South Queens elected officials also proudly displayed their Woodhaven pride on Jamaica Avenue on Sunday, including Assemblyman Mike Miller (D-Woodhaven), City Councilman Eric Ulrich (R-Ozone Park), City Councilwoman Elizabeth Crowley (D-Glendale), and State Sen. Joe Addabbo, Jr. (D-Howard Beach).
