Assemblywoman Stacey Pheffer Amato (D-Howard Beach) on Friday continued her Summer Reading Awards Tour in Howard Beach at St. Helen Catholic Academy, handing out awards to students from all grade levels.
In her Summer Reading Program, Pheffer Amato sent pamphlets to students across the 23rd Assembly District, who then had to incorporate reading into their daily routine over summer vacation in order to win the awards.
“There are few things that open the world to you like reading every day,” Pheffer Amato said. “And I’m just so proud of each of you, that you’ve taken that first step. I hope reading is a lifetime joy for you and something that helps you in school, in work and in your lives! Congratulations and great work to all.”
