Police Officer Joseph Ricco was recently named December 2017 Cop of the Month by the 106th Precinct Community Council.
According to Capt. Brian Bohannon, precinct commander, Ricco deserved the honor “for apprehending the perpetrator of a one-man crime spree.” The veteran cop collared the crook near Cross Bay Boulevard and 133rd Avenue in Ozone Park, but not before he burgled an elementary school, stole a car, and attempted to swipe another vehicle, even knocking down the 54-year-old female owner in the process.
On hand last Wednesday night to congratulate Ricco (second from l.) were Asst. Chief David Barrere, commanding officer of Patrol Borough Queens South (l. to r.); Capt. Bohannon; and Community Council President Frank Dardani.
