City Police Department investigators recently reached out to the public for help in identifying a particularly prolific perpetrator who has robbed no less than five borough gas stations in the past month, including a Gulf in South Ozone Park.
According to police reports, on Monday, March 5, around 3 a.m., a male employee was pumping gas for the suspect at the Gulf on Van Wyck Expressway near Lincoln Street when he stepped out of his car, displayed a handgun and demanded money. The employee complied and gave the perp approximately $40 in cash. He fled inside of a dark-colored sedan southbound on the Van Wyck Expressway Service Road.
The suspect is described as a Hispanic man, approximately 5-foot-9, 170 pounds.
