Diocese of Brooklyn Bishop Nicholas DiMarzio recently named the Rev. Carlos Velasquez the new pastor of St. Mary Gate of Heaven Roman Catholic Church in Ozone Park. Father Velasquez previously served as SMGH’s parochial vicar.
Upon learning of Velasquez’s appointment, City Councilman Eric Ulrich (R-Ozone Park) said DiMarzio “could not have picked a better priest to serve the people of Ozone Park.”
