Students, faculty, and City officials joined Councilman Eric Ulrich (R-Ozone Park) on Tuesday for the grand re-opening of the newly renovated library at PS 65.
Funded through Ulrich’s office, the $913,371 in upgrades for the “Under the Sea”-themed facility inside the Ozone Park school include new technology, seating areas, furniture and submarine-like windows near the library entrance.
“It is important that we continue to invest in our schools, which play such a vital role in our communities. This beautiful, newly-upgraded library will help students better enjoy their school and all the educational opportunities it has to offer,” Ulrich (c.) said. “I’d like to thank Principal [Rafael] Morales, the [School Construction Authority], the architects and everyone who has turned this vision into a reality.”
