A City Police Department lieutenant was arrested on the Fourth of July for drunk driving after slamming into a parked car in South Ozone Park, according to the NYPD and the New York Post.
Lieutenant Sunil Singh, who is assigned to the 79th Precinct in Brooklyn, crashed into the other car while driving on Rockaway Boulevard near 117th Street around 2:30 a.m. last Wednesday. No one was injured in the incident.
Singh, 38, was arraigned later that day on a criminal complaint charging him with driving while ability impaired and operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated. He was released on his own recognizance and ordered to return to court on Aug. 22, according to authorities.
