New York City Animal Rescue Girls will once again celebrate the season at Katch Astoria with its 2nd annual NYCARG Holiday Fundraiser on Sunday, Dec. 16, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., the non-profit organization announced on Thursday.
The event boasts celebrity appearances by “Sopranos” stars Al Sapienza and Lou Martini, Jr., musical performances by Sapienza, Syrissa Maria, and Kandrea Wade, and other surprise guests. One hundred percent of the proceeds will go to NYCARG’s rescue services, which include TNR (trap, neuter, rehome), adoption, and fostering services, as well as veterinary care for rescues in need of medical attention.
New York City Animal Rescue Girls operates solely on donations, so its holiday fundraiser is made possible by the generosity of pro-bono performers, volunteers, and small businesses. For a second year in a row, Katch Astoria has offered the venue at no cost to NYCARG. Additionally, more than two dozen business owners and NYCARG supporters across the Tri-State area have donated gift cards, service vouchers, and products for the event’s raffles and silent auctions.
Since actress Alicia Harding founded NYCARG in 2015 the group has rescued more than 300 homeless and/or unwanted animals from the streets of the five boroughs via adoption and fostering services. Nearly 50 NYCARG volunteers across the Tri-State area assist with everything from trapping and rescuing, to animal transport and fostering, to fundraising and outreach.
Tickets to NYCARG’s 2nd annual Holiday Fundraiser are now available, starting at $10 if purchased online at brownpapertickets.com/event/3900960 before Dec. 15. Tickets may also be purchased at the door for $15 by cash, credit card and PayPal.
