A 20 year-old woman suffered a gunshot wound and other extensive injuries after two gunmen fired shots through her kitchen window in the wake of a dispute with her boyfriend.
Identified as Alec Bilciu, 21, and Jacob Yagudayev, 22, both of Fresh Meadows, the defendants were arraigned on a complaint charging them with first-degree assault, two counts of second-degree criminal possession of a weapon and first-degree reckless endangerment.
Last Saturday morning around 5:45 a.m.,the defendants showed up to the victim’s 163rd Street and apartment in Flushing and repeatedly knocked on the door. The victim’s boyfriend answered the door and recognized Bilciu, known to him as “Mike.” Bilciu said,“Yo, what’s poppin’,” and then stepped back to show Yagudayev, standing directly behind him. Upon seeing both men, the victim’s boyfriend immediately shut and locked the apartment door.
When the man closed and locked the door the defendants banged on it and ripped the knob off. The defendants then allegedly fired four shots into the apartment through the front door and a side window, striking the 20-year-old victim, who was in bed. The woman was struck in her leg and transported to a local hospital, where she is currently being treated for injuries that include a shattered femur bone.
A prior dispute started on November 25, 2018, when Bilciu and Yagudayev arrived at the victim’s home around 7:30 a.m. and began banging and kicking the door. The young woman’ boyfriend answered at that time too, and a physical altercation with Yagudayev followed. The boyfriend then began receiving threatening phone calls in which someone stated “I’m going to find you.”
Both men were ordered to return to court on January25 and if convicted, face up to 25 years in prison.
