Seventeen thousand, seven hundred and twenty five. That’s the number of counts in an indictment charged against a Jamaica man after he was found with thousands of images of child sexual abuse. Vishal Lalbeharry, 30, of 95th Avenue, was also charged with sexual misconduct for bestiality.
The defendant downloaded thousands of photos and videos of children as young as six months-old being abused by adult men and women, in addition to recording himself having sexual relations with an animal.

Said, “…the internet is a valuable learning tool, it unfortunately is also a doorway for deviant sexual predators who trade and sometimes act on these vile and disturbing collections of videos and photographs of children being abused. The images accumulated by this defendant allegedly contained some of the most horrific ways imaginable to sexually abuse a child – even babies were defiled. The children …must live with the scars on their bodies as well as in their memories forever.”
Lalbeharry was arraigned before Acting Queens Supreme Court Justice Stephanie Zaro on 5,903 counts of promoting a sexual performance by a child as a sexually motivated felony, 5,903 counts of promoting a sexual performance by a child, 5,903 counts of possessing a sexual performance by a child and 16 counts of sexual misconduct. The defendant’s next court date is April 22, 2019.
Detectives conducting an online investigation on March 27, 2018, used an internet investigative tool to detect IP addresses sharing child sexual abuse images. The software identified the defendant’s computer address as having allegedly downloaded 1,150 files containing images of children being sexually abused. Some of the files had the titles “Babies F**ked,” “Judyan 04,” “2006 Tara 7 yr” and numerous others. Some of the photos showed babies actually being penetrated anally and vaginally by adult men.
Lalbeharry’s computer was active on a network between March and April 2018, acquiring as many as 10,240 files of photos and videos of children – none older than 10 years old – being sexually abused. At the time of the defendant’s arrest, he told police that no one else uses his computer.
He told authorities that, “while I was downloading regular porn, some images of child pornography were in the files…I have seen this by mistake.”
Police seized four, four cell phones and five hard drives from his room and a forensic analysis of the items showed thousands images of children – from infants to 10 year olds – with their genitals exposed and being sexually abused in numerous ways. Included in the defendants collection were 16 video recordings with him engaged in sexual intercourse with a dog.
If convicted, Lalbeharry faces 7 years in prison.
