The 106th Precinct’s Traffic Safety Unit on Monday was out once again enforcing No Stopping/Standing on the Nassau Expressway shoulder in Howard Beach for drivers waiting to pick up passengers from John F. Kennedy International Airport.
Idling autos have been a persistent and dangerous problem on the span for decades. Last summer, Capt. Mike Edmonds, precinct executive officer, noted that the command’s traffic team conducts such initiatives on the expressway at least once per month.
