Assemblywoman Stacey Pheffer Amato (D-Howard Beach) recently honored Reach For The Stars Programs for Children as the 23rd Assembly District’s Small Business of the Month for March.
“On behalf of the entire Reach For The Stars Programs For Children family I wanted to thank Assemblywoman Stacey Pheffer Amato for recognizing the work that we’re doing,” Frances Scarantino, Owner said. “I opened Reach For The Stars because I love children, and 15 years later we’ve been able to spread that throughout our community to leave a positive impact on all those who live here.”
Reach For The Stars, which is located on 96th Street in Howard Beach, offers programs such as Mommy and Me, Little Dipper classes for two year olds, and after school and weekend programs. Having already beautified the bathrooms of MS 207, Reach For The Stars is looking to expand their Painting for Positivity program to other schools in Howard Beach, including PS 146 and PS 232.
“Women’s History Month is the perfect opportunity to highlight and amplify the work of Frances and the entire Reach For The Stars family,” Pheffer Amato added.
