Following five anxiety fueled days, the family of Gabriella Maldonado on Wednesday collectively exhaled inside the 13-year-old girl’s Richmond Hill apartment, basking in the teen’s return and the abrupt end to a harrowing ordeal.
Gabriella was last seen shortly after midnight on Saturday, Feb. 29, in her Jamaica Avenue residence. She was found on March 4 seemingly unharmed and promptly transported by authorities to Elmhurst Hospital for evaluation, according to police officials.
Investigators did not provide an explanation for Gabriella’s sudden disappearance.
