Patients patiently wait in line in their cars in the Aqueduct Racetrack parking lot to be tested for the coronavirus.

Cross Bay Boulevard in Ozone Park and Howard Beach. Liberty Avenue in Richmond Hill. Fresh pond Road in Ridgewood and Middle Village. Thirty-Seventh Avenue in Jackson Heights.
It seems the only difference between these once-bustling borough thoroughfares and deserted towns in old Western flicks is the rolling tumbleweed.
However, there are some bright spots in The World’s Borough—including a drive-thru coronavirus testing site located by healthcare network provider SOMOS NY on the premises of Aqueduct Racetrack.
“Many of my constituents are relieved to learn that a coronavirus testing site is opening at the Aqueduct Racetrack parking lot,” said State Sen. Joe Addabbo, Jr. (D-Howard Beach). “It is in times of emergency that we come together to help others, and this is why I appreciate the provider SOMOS, the City and the Port Authority for working towards making this site available. We must increase the number of testing sites if we are to identify those in need of medical attention and to credibly reduce the spread of this fatal virus.”
You must be referred by a medical professional to be tested for the virus at Aqueduct.
