While the rest of us are being told to stay inside, you’re outside all over the city wherever people are in need,” Timothy Cardinal Dolan said on Monday in a message to members of the FDNY.

“If I could just say a word of love, and appreciation, and solidarity with you,” Timothy Cardinal Dolan said on Monday in a message to members of the City Fire Department. “I’m thinking of our firefighters, our EMS, I’m thinking of so many volunteers in this community and across the country. I just want you to know how much we appreciate you. There you are, while the rest of us are told to keep distance, you’re getting as close as you can. While the rest of us are being told to stay inside, you’re outside all over the city wherever people are in need. Boy oh boy do you remind us of God’s rescue, God’s care, God’s provenance, the dignity of the human person, the sanctity of all human life.”
