The Howard Beach Kiwanis Club posted this sign on the fencing at a vacant property on Cross Bay Blvd, located between Starbucks and CVS. As for the motivation to put up the sign, long time HB Kiwanis member and retired Queens Supreme Court Justice Augustus Agate explained very simply. Quoting from the common law of torts in Latin, Judge Agate said, “Res ipsa loquitor, meaning, the thing speaks for itself. At a time like this, one of the most important contributions we can make is remembering to say thank you to those who most deserve it.”
Kudos to the club for recognizing the efforts of all our front line workers!
