Six bills co-sponsored by State Sen. Joe Addabbo, Jr. (D-Howard Beach) recently passed Albany’s Upper Chamber.

  • S.4345: Expands the definition of the offense of coercion in the second degree to include the production or dissemination of intimate images; and relates to the definition of sex offense;
  • S.297: Requires transmitters of money to provide a warning which informs consumers of certain fraudulent activities that may occur;
  • S.5619: Directs the Department of Environmental Conservation to study alternative municipal uses for recycled glass; requires the department to submit a report containing its findings along with legislative proposals as it deems necessary to implement its recommendations;
  • S.3392: Relates to the uniform treatment of waste from the exploration, development, extraction, or production of crude oil or natural gas;
  • S.4176A: Requires supermarkets to make excess food available to qualifying entities;
  • S.7589: Directs the office of fire prevention and control to form a task force and issue a report relating to volunteer firefighter recruitment and retention.

“I am happy to be able to represent my constituents here in Albany when voting on legislation that is aimed at helping and protecting them,” Addabbo said. “Ending harassment, sustaining a high quality of life, and protecting citizens from scams are some of the most important things we can do as elected officials. I hope to see these bills signed into law.”
